It has more than just changed my body, it brought me back from a deep depression,
it calmed my anxiety, made me a little more patient ; ).
I was able to get off my depression and anxiety medication, I have had less
thyroid related debilitating flare ups, and I have WAY more energy.
With that being said, it is not an easy ride, I would never sit here and tell you or
anyone that this lifestyle is easy peasy. It is not, most of us are starting
with no clue of what to do, how to change our food, how to pick up a weight, how
to mass produce meals for the week.
It takes time, energy, and planning.
Some weeks, life throws me extra curve balls, and I get stressed out about how to fit
everything that I need to do to keep our family eating properly and active.
These are the weeks where I scale back on a workout to help make things
work.
A lot goes on in a house as busy as mine, and believe me when I tell you that
sometimes I wish I could just park myself on the couch on a Sunday and watch TV
all day instead of meal prepping. Here’s the problem with that, I wouldn’t be
reaping the benefits of having healthy meals at my fingertips every day, nor
would my family, mornings would be more chaotic then they already are if lunches
weren’t already prepared. We would be grabbing unhealthy convenient fast options
or buying some fast food somewhere, neither of those options helps our health.
I take pride in making sure my family has clean food to eat every day, it is one
of the gifts I give them as their mom and wife. I love them that much, that
sitting on the couch takes second place to prepping our food.
Do I wish some days that someone else could do it for me HELL YES! How amazing
would it be to wake up and have all our meals lined up in the fridge…ahhhhh…what
a beautiful dream.
There are options for those who can afford it; there are companies that will do just
that for you, at this time that isn’t an option for us, so I keep cooking.
This week was one of those weeks for me.
Way too many extras, with birthday parties, yes plural, and a baby shower, and then
of course the rest of a regular family life, you know, laundry , cleaning,
cooking, homework, work, blah, blah, blah, I know you all know what I’m talking
about.
I am amazed at myself for how far I have come, I never imagined this life for
myself, I never believed that I could do it, after so many failed attempts, if
you had told me this is what I would be doing 2 years ago, I would have cried,
and stopped being your friend for lying to me, this is how little faith I had in
myself.
I want to tell you that even though, it is not easy to do, it is doable, if you
want it.
We all start off by saying we can’t, it’s too hard, but how many times have you had
things you wanted and had to prepare for them, like a vacation, you know you
want it, you need it, so you start to plan for it, you put money aside every
month, you get your passports up to date, you start buying some clothes, you
pull out your luggage, you make sure you have your camera ready etc.
It is basically the same thing; want it bad enough and you will take all the
necessary steps to get there. Your need for change needs to be greater then to remain the same.
You need to focus on the benefits and crave them, make goals and reach
them.
You need to plan, planning is everything in being successful with a healthy
lifestyle, especially when the whole family has changed and is following
along.
Change is scary, not many of us like change, going into unfamiliar territory is
frightening but let’s face it, staying the same if you are unhappy is even more
frightening, we were not put here on this earth to be miserable and unhappy, we
are meant to live healthy, happy lives, but for that you need to
change.
I believe you can do it, believe in yourself.
It is YOUR time to CHANGE.
Be Patient, Be Kind, Believe.
